Bio
As a passionate member of music communities and choral ensembles throughout more than 13 years of her life, Melina Scott brings enthusiasm and excitement to the studio. Melina believes in the beauty of music as a deep form of self-expression and connection, and though her lessons have roots in technique and knowledge, she recognizes the equal importance of singing to nourish the soul.
Melina graduated with a minor in Music Performance, as well as a BFA in Creative Writing and a BFA in Teaching from the University of Montana in 2023. She spent three years in the UM Chamber Choral and one year in the UM Opera program, under professors Coreen Duffy and Anne Basinski. The highlight of her music education was a choral tour and competition taking place in London and Germany, where she was privileged to witness musical styles from cultures around the world. After graduating, she moved to Bellingham and has since been singing with the Bellingham Chamber Chorale under Dr. Frederick Mabalot.
In her free time, Melina enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, and spending time at trivia night with friends. She is also a Bellingham Public Schools substitute teacher and enjoys working with students of all ages in both her district wide subbing and vocal tutoring.
