Bio
McKenzie has had an affinity for the piano ever since it was first introduced into her life at age 9. With a high inclination to play as well as improvise using her ear, she quickly found herself as the pianist for her middle, high school, and college jazz ensembles.
Today, she’s still active in Western’s jazz ensembles as well as a couple of jazz/funk bands around the community. After having played a wide array of percussion intrsuments the entirety of middle and high school, McKenzie takes a very rhythmic approach to her playing, striving to utilize the wide range the piano has to offer at any given performance. When she’s not playing, she’s on local hiking trails with friends, or doing her homework.
